Home made laundry detergent

ISo I had couponed a bunch of laundry detergent but after seeing the cost and being as I have a very big family plus cloth diaper my lil kay, I decided to make my own. There's the liquid and the powder but I prefer the powder because it will last me much LONGER!  So I got all the supplies at walmart. The painrwrs bucket and lid to mix it in and store it. Then I got a cutw plastic container with a scoop. With powder all u need is one scoop per load so I bought the coffee scoop also at walmart.
I cute the zote bar of soap and grated it in my ninja blender.
I poured half or the borax half lf the super washing soda and half of the baking soda and mixed it all in. The pjt half of the zote. I used a wisk and then poured alll the remains and mixed it again.  Then had to dig my hang into the batch and break up any clumps.
Boom in less than 30 mins I have about 6 months worth of laundry detergent.  Cost with all the extra materials was about 35 bucks.
The photos are below. Enjoy and remember theres no shame in being frugal!

Lily's Thrift Store Challenge

Me and my friend Sheila just love the thrift store. Both our daughters came along with us on our final thrift store stop when we were thrifting for my new house decor to repurpose. If you're wondering what I could possibly be having in mind, well just stay tuned because we will be making a collage wall for my living room and hallway. That post will come up later once we repurpose everything and finish gathering up the materials needed for that project.

Okay back to Lily's Thrift store challenge. I gave her 20 dollars and told her to pick out as many clothings as she could with 20 that she liked. My daughter is very into skirts (just like me!) so she knew exactly what she wanted when she saw it. Here are the photos below of all the cute things she found.

I even found three very cute outfits for Kay. I cant wait till she can wear em.

Remember to always wash your thrift store finds!

Kays Thrift Store Clothes. All total under $5.00

Lily's retro dress I found when she wasn't with me for $4.00

Ethan's 8th birthday. Batman printable and cupcake recipe diy

This weekend my middle son turned the big 8! His current obsession is batman so I figured yes I can do this. First I found a very delicious recipe for a cupcake completely done from scratch which turned out amazing because it's not from the box and was fresh. Then I had the banner and toppers printed and I also made the cupcake stand out of cardboard! Below is everything you need to know on how I made this all possible.  If you would like to have the batman banner and cupcake toppers please feel free to email me and request it, I'd love to share it with you all. Xo vanessar0228@icloud.com

Cupcake recipe:

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 whole eggs
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cup of flour
1/3 cup of milk
1/3 cup of sprinkles

Preheat oven at 350

Combine dry ingredients first then mix. Then mix in wet ingredients into the dry and mix very well. I don't have a mixer so I do everything by hand with a wisk. Put the sprinkles into the batter and wisk again.

Pour into cupcake tins and let it bake for 20 mins max.

Here's how it all looks.

Here's how I did the cupcake stand very simple I just cut cardboard and used the empty toilet paper rolls. I had spray painted it in black.
