My collage wall

After two days of working on putting the final pieces together on my collage wall, it finally happened. Even with a teething 4 month old and a bunch of cabin fevered kids, I accomplished it. My good friend Sheila helped so much on putting it all together after I had painted and put everything together onto the canvas and frames. I'm eternally grateful for her wisdom and input, if not I wouldn't have ever accomplished it and it would still all be sitting in the box from when I had purchased it all. Can you believe this all came from a thrift store? Best believe it did! Minus the canvas which I got on a sale at Michael's Craft Store, everything else was repurposed.

With a lil paint and spray paint and some imagination this all came together in more ways than I could have ever expected. Enjoy the photographs.

Printables for my new home

I went on pininterest and just searched for tons of printables for my home. I even created one with our birthdays and wedding date with our last name on micro soft word. I will update this blog once I have purchased frames and have placed em on the walls. I'm going to spray pain all the wooden frames gold cuz that's the accent color I want on my walls in my new home. Moving this weekend so stay tuned to all the wonderful decorations I have in store to show you all my readers and on my journey to a new stage of our lives.

Savory Saturday- donut muffins and lasagna rolls recipes

Even despite the gloomy weather I opted off a hearty meal that wasn't in the crockpot. Shockingly I wanted to give the crockpot a break today. So I had some left over ground meat that I had made empanadas  with so I decided why not lasagna rolls? Good choice I might add because it was very quick and easy. 

I out the sauce with three spoonfuls of ricotta and blended it into the meat and warmed it all. My kids are picky with cheese so if they don't see it they don't know it's there. 

Then I had boiled the lasagna pasta and waited until cool so I can roll. I used just a spoon spread on the pasta and some cheddar cheese and rolled which was easy but don't put too much cuz then it will make a mess and leak out. 

Line the bottom of the casserole dish with the sauce and place rolls on top. Put sauce and cheese on top and bake in oven for 15/20 mins at 375

Now we get to what I made for dessert which is the donut muffins. Oh yum these were a big hit! 

Dough:

1/2 cup sugar 

1/4 butter melted

1/4 nutmeg

1/2 cup milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup flour

Mix the sugar, melted butter and nutmeg. 

Then add the rest and mix well. 

Place in a muffin tin which I lined with baking cups.

Oven at 375 for 15 mins. 

Then on top melt butter and sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top.

Sidewalk chalk homemade recipe

Sidewalk chalk can be expensive especially if you have multiple kids. I decided I wanted and needed to cut expenses so I refuse to buy anymore when I can make my own. All it took was 1/2 cup corn starch and 1/2 cup of water and mixed it well. Then I just added two drops of food coloring. I have a stick mold for ice that I never use so this will be my mold for my chalk from now on. It literally took less than five minutes to mix etc. I still don't know how long it will take to harden cuz I just made it. Let me know if you decided to create your own sidewalk chalk as well.
