I am feeling super under the weather but that's not stopping me from continuing on this blog challenge I have dove into to help improve my blogging. And with my new latest addiction of planning and what not I am able to be more in tune to my blog then before. It's helpful when here are those times when I feel like I have nothing to write about but now I just open my brain dump and look for all the topics I have jotted and it gives me a sudden wind of inspiration. I am content with it all.
These are previous recipes but I will try to post more once I am officially well and not still having a stuffy nose and headache baring down on me. I have posted that got lost in the shuffle of hardly being read. Hope if you try any of my recipes that you tag me on instagram @fourxblessed.
Stay blessed, Vanessa.

Macarons Review
Macarons are so popular and I just needed to see what the craze was about. A friend of mine has a wonderful lil baking design business and she had a taste sample box for sale so I snagged those up with the order I placed for my birthday. Once I ate one i just couldn't stop eating them. I didn't think I would enjoy the other flavors because I'm such a die hard chocolate fan but my favorite one is the Pina Colada! They were beyond perfect to me and by far the best lil cookies I have ever had. Each of my kids even had one and let me tell you they are cookie monsters! Husband was super impressed as well and was like oh man those are so good, she did a good job! So if anyone wants to place an order or even check out her wonderfully designed cakes head over to her site! http://ccxcd.com/ Please make sure you said Vanessa from four times blessed sent ya!
Being able to help other small business is something I would love to do even more often then not. Just wish more would be willing to let me help them.
On a brighter not those macarons made my day. Thanks Crystal! Keep on baking!
xo, Vanessa.

The mommy milk lactation cookie recipe
The ultimate mommy milk cookie recipe
1 1/2 cup flour (whole wheat or regular)
1 3/4 cup of oats (not the instant one)
1 tsp baking soda
1tsp salt
1 cup flax seed
3/4 cups of peanut butter
3 tablespoons of yeast (brewers)
1/3 cup of water
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar (I used light brown)
2 tsp vanilla (you can even use almond)
2 large eggs (I used organic)
2 cups of chocolate chips
And 1 cup nuts of your choice but I didn't add that to mine
Pre heat oven to 350
Combine flour, baking soda, sienna on and salt in one bowl
In another larger bowl beat peanut butter, butter, sugar (both of em) vanilla and yeast, flax seed and water till creamy
Mix in eggs.
Gradually beat in flour mixture from the first bowl
Mix in chocolate chips and nuts if you opted to use nuts as well
Add oats slowly
Make em into balls
(We had to mix it with our hands cuz the batter was a but too tough for a whisk and I don't have a mixer)
Place balls onto baking sheet and press down a bit with a fork.
Bake for 12 mins.
I baked enough for a few days cuz I'll be eating two a day. And froze the other batch I didn't use for when I run out.
Let me know if you tried it. God bless xo

Play apron & felt cookies oh my!
For my daughter who's a huge pretend play chef and restaurant owner (i kid you not she makes her brothers be servers) I decided to make her play time more fun. Her birthday was in Jan. and I had made her felt tea bags for her tea set I had got her as a birthday present! She was touched by the creativity and has a lil box she puts em in for safe keeping and plays tea party constantly.
So I wanted to add to her home made collection of toys that shes not starting to collect (me and her father made her a kitchen out of cardboard! simply amazing to upcycle things you think wouldnt have a purpose anymore!)
I took an old shirt that was way too small for me and wouldnt fit me ever again so I cut it in half and since I hate to sew, I pulled out my glue gun (my BFF) and glued ribbon on the sides and on the top so she can tie it and she loves hearts so I glued hears at the bottom for a lil touch of girliness! Now she puts it on all the time and simply is too cute for words.
After the apron I went searching for a template to make her felt cookies. I didn't save the template so my apologies are in order. Simply google it or go onto PINTEREST trust you will find tons of felt ideas and what have yous.
She choose the color of the frosting she wanted on her "sugar cookie" and even decided on making a chocolate chip one. So we sat together and she helped stick the stuffing in and her face was priceless as she played with her tea, cookies and her kitchen set.
Kids will be content with anything as long as they see that its new and fun and the plus said to this frugal mom is that all it costs is your time. And I will spend my time making tons more things for her just to see her happy and expand her creativity in pretend play.
xoxo,
Vanessa
