Homemade Wipes

Wipes are getting pricey. Me, as a frugal mom.that has already made her own laundry detergent decided it was time to make them wipes too!
We all hit bumps in the road and it never hurts to learn new things that can help you financially and be healthier for baby because there has been wipes recalls (way too many if you ask me) and that is pretty scary especially when it comes to your precious little one.
So here's all the photos of the steps I took and extra information under the photos. Leave a comment if you have a different way out if it worked for you!

ingredients used:
bounty paper towel cut in half
burts bees baby shower gel
baby oil

i had two empty wipes containers so i saved em just for this purpose
some people choose to do it in tubberware but nope its better to save what you already have on hand

baby oilor coconut oil wich i had and slipped my mind completely!
burts bees baby soap or any baby soap you have on hand

add two cups of water per box
the paper towel will obsorb it all trust

pour it over the paper towel

notice how it still has the brown tubing in it.
pul it out NOW before it gets soggy etc
you dont want that to be left in your wipes!

I pulled it out with zero problems

added the 1/2 tsp of baby soap
and 1/2 tsp of baby oil

i flipped the "wipes" a few times to make sure it got the water evenly and the
oil and soap.
everyone does their wipes different but i did this by choice

WALA! i have two containers of wipes ready to use with items i had on hand
which in return gives me the peace of mind that there s no added chemicals
that are harsh on baby

thanks everyone and be sure to leave a comment if you follow my steps, done it before or have any tips for my next batch!

Kay's 1st Birhday Party!

I never thought this day would come where my precious lil figher would have made it and be here to celebrate her first birthday.
At first we had this big bash planned in NYC but due to the husbands schedule it wasn't possible so I had to cancel her cake that I had order from @CCXCD  (instagram gofollow her please) whch in turn made me feel so terrible because one she's a friend and two it's hard runnng an at home business tryng to support a family,

I still decorated not very much the day of her birthday and got her her own personalized huge cupcake for her to smash into (which she did't) and a regular cake for us,

Later, a good friend of mine who has now turned into one of my best friends in such little time DEE told me she deserved a party and volunteered to be her god mother of water which is the spanish tradition that people who do santeria (with craft) do but I dont practice it! I just did it to give her that honor ]because I am a true christian threw and threw. She has her original GOD parents but they couldn't make it to the baptism.

Back to Kay's brthday, I searched Pinterest and decided I needed to do something different and not a generic party. I opted for the sing song "you are my sunshine" which I sang to her while he was in the NICU and because it is the same song my sister in law Zizi (not her real name for privacy) sang to her oldest in the NICU as well. So I wanted a piece of them with us especially since they live in a different state.

Let me tell you how PINTEREST is amazing and I could have been one of those let me just print this crap out type of moms but nope! I sat there and created her banner and other little stif  my cricut machine (which is the best machine ever and cant wait to upgrade to the Expressions one.

I had chocolate number 1 lollipops done by @BYPOISINIV (follow on instagram) and  I was grateful for her donation and she even did KAY in the flavor of cake batter which I kept for myself so me and Kaylee can enjoy together.

Below are some of my favorite photos. Enjoy!

Lily @ the candy/gift table

The background. Banner said you are my sunshine. Used a wooden letter kay and also cut out lil sun bursts from the cricut. Used a long rectangle tabe close to aceent it and made yellow bows so you wouldnt notice the tape (always try to hide those) & used the kind of ribbon you use for balloons to twirl it and have it hanging for a pink accent.

Her table before the cake. Her name in chocolate done by @bypoisiniv via instagram thank you once again for the donation. i placed flowers around the able and one in a vase with rock. Then  found that print out on PINTEREST

another close up

I used  a basker for the lollipopsand wrapperd a ribbon arond it. also place anoter vase with a floer on it. The treat bags I wanted them in yelllow but couldn't find em sosettled for pink. Again I cut out the K via my cricut and decided that her age ONE should be on clouds. Placed a newborn photo I had taken when I started photogtaphy of her with her father's police hat and badge.

Notice the bird cage? I cut out a bird on a swing from my cricut as well.
Remember its the lil things that counts to make things POP.

Kay loves our friend David who always shows support and love forher.

Clean mama!

I know I haven't been on to post due to life getting hectic and I'm beginning to focus more on my new baby who's now 1 years old! Yay! She's a very happy and intelligent baby and has me with my hands super full.

But the reason why I decided to blog is because I found a wonderful Facebook and Instagram called clean mama.

Her Instagram daily posts of what needs to be done daily to keep your house in order and not overwhelm you. I had done my own schedule and I will be truthfully honest hers is way better! I really like how easy she breaks down cleaning to make it easier and she even has a printable on her facebook that she posts in the beginning of the month so you won't lose track which is amazing!

So if you're a hectic mama and those goes nuts cleaning the whole house in one day STOP! Go to clean mama on your facebook or Instagram and so what she posts and you will see how easier life will be.

Stay tuned because I will post more on here about sites, makeup. Baby things and life in general with a now toddler.

I have my stay sight up and running and will continue to pray that God makes it flourish into a popular store and can help me financially especially during the holidays.

God blessed, Vanessa

Regrowing vegetables DIY

I found this very interesting to do on PINTEREST of course. I just had to try it out for myself.

Now I'm even more eager to regrow even more vegetables. Not only does it save you $$ but it also is nice to watch how nature can regrow after its been used and a fun thing for the kiddies to see and learn about as well.

Here are my photos of the two romaine lettuces I've began to regrow.

This is after a week!

I hope this inspires others to look up what else you can regrow! The possibilities are endless. Help the earth and not waste food.

Homemade Pancakes From Scartch oh so easy!

Sometimes it's always good to get in the kitchen and not pull out the generic box of pancake mix that you just add water (yuck). Today I opted in making my own pancake mix and  I was so shocked at how simple, quick and easy it is to make. This is a fun thing to do with your older kids if they like to help mommy/daddy in the kitchen. Who says we can't use the extra lil' helping hands anyway?

Here's the recipe I used below and I hope you enjoy making it and that the kiddies enjoy eating em cuz who doesn't love pancakes?

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 tsps baking powder (Quick Pro-tip: If this stuff has been sitting aroundtoo long, you'll get flat pancakes).
  • 1 tsp salt *
  • 1 tbs granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups Milk (Note: I use whole milk, but 2% works as well. I've never tried this recipe with 1% or skim, so I don't know if the much lower fat content has any effect)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbs butter, melted
* Don't worry, these don't taste salty. Salt helps make the insides fluffy. Science!

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, sift together all the dry ingredients -- the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Or, just dump everything in there. Lumps in the batter actually make for better pancakes.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients
  3. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until just combined. Don't worry about lumps (see above).
  4. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat.
  5. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Note: If you want a lot of little pancakes, use about 1/4 cup of batter per pancake. If you want fewer large pancakes, use about 1/2 cup of batter per pancake. Or use any amount inbetween or above or below. They're your pancakes. Go nuts (But don't put nuts in them. Well, unless you want to)
  6. Cook the first side until bubbles have formed uniformly over the top surface. Flip, and cook the 2nd side for about 2 minutes.
  7. Brown on both sides and serve hot.
Enjoy your pancakes!

the mix. ( i added a touch of cinnamon)

(puree strawberry preserves to go on top)

nice and fluffy!

ta-da! finished product

Seven months later....

Kay is now 7 months and is the cutest lil thing. Im so happy and glad that she fought death fiercely.

Im also shocked that I stuck it out with the cloth diapers. I love em. Im even considering making her some!

I have a sewing machine so why not right!
I was even thinking of making cloth diapers for her cuz the pul fabric is cheaper then an actual diaper!

Im just nervous that I'll mess it up!
I mean if I just give it one try it shouldn't be that bad right?

Sorry for the simple blog post.

Thank you to all my readers also for coming to read what I do and what ive done so far since she's come around.

Home made laundry detergent

ISo I had couponed a bunch of laundry detergent but after seeing the cost and being as I have a very big family plus cloth diaper my lil kay, I decided to make my own. There's the liquid and the powder but I prefer the powder because it will last me much LONGER!  So I got all the supplies at walmart. The painrwrs bucket and lid to mix it in and store it. Then I got a cutw plastic container with a scoop. With powder all u need is one scoop per load so I bought the coffee scoop also at walmart.
I cute the zote bar of soap and grated it in my ninja blender.
I poured half or the borax half lf the super washing soda and half of the baking soda and mixed it all in. The pjt half of the zote. I used a wisk and then poured alll the remains and mixed it again.  Then had to dig my hang into the batch and break up any clumps.
Boom in less than 30 mins I have about 6 months worth of laundry detergent.  Cost with all the extra materials was about 35 bucks.
The photos are below. Enjoy and remember theres no shame in being frugal!
