Recipe: Cincinnati chili with a twist

It's a gloomy day in my neck of the woods so I opted for some chili. Here's my recipe, enjoy.

A pack of ground beef or turkey
McCormick cholo package
Pink beans or any beans you have on hand
Two cans on tomato sauce
And a tsp of cinnamon

Brown the meat and cook.
Add the chili seasoning
Add the tomato sauce
Then add the beans and the cinnamon

I then made some whole wheat spaghetti or you can use any pasta you have on hand.

Kids loved it and definitely was a belly filler,

Ethan's 8th birthday. Batman printable and cupcake recipe diy

This weekend my middle son turned the big 8! His current obsession is batman so I figured yes I can do this. First I found a very delicious recipe for a cupcake completely done from scratch which turned out amazing because it's not from the box and was fresh. Then I had the banner and toppers printed and I also made the cupcake stand out of cardboard! Below is everything you need to know on how I made this all possible.  If you would like to have the batman banner and cupcake toppers please feel free to email me and request it, I'd love to share it with you all. Cupcake recipe:

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 whole eggs
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cup of flour
1/3 cup of milk
1/3 cup of sprinkles

Preheat oven at 350

Combine dry ingredients first then mix. Then mix in wet ingredients into the dry and mix very well. I don't have a mixer so I do everything by hand with a wisk. Put the sprinkles into the batter and wisk again.

Pour into cupcake tins and let it bake for 20 mins max.

Here's how it all looks.

Here's how I did the cupcake stand very simple I just cut cardboard and used the empty toilet paper rolls. I had spray painted it in black.

DIY fall wreath- easy!

I finally created my first wreath. It's a fall inspired wreath that just came to me via one of my many hunts on Pinterest. I have a few pool noodles so being as how it's no more pool weather I trimmed it a bit and just taped the ends together to make a circle. Then I got leaves at the dollar store only 2 packs is needed. I used some different leaves to accent where the ribbon would string from and then used some foam letters on some of the remaining leaves to create the word FALL. I then strung some ribbon and then glued the leaves of the word fall onto the ribbon and voila I was done within 30 minutes on a beautiful wreath to decorate my door. I can't wait to make a Christmas inspired one so stay tuned for that one.

Our back to school

Back to school finally came around in our neck of the woods. Can I just add that I was super excited to get the two smaller ones out the house? Not because of their behavior but because last year I homeschooled all three last year and it was tougher than I had ever anticipated. They missed the social part of it and so they decided to go back to public while my oldest stood in the homeschool (hence I don't mind). Here's our photos of our first day. I had wanted to print signs but with low ink and low funds I opted in using the marker board this time. Sometimes this mommy has to make the best of what she has on hand and not freak out. Hope everyone enjoyed their first day of school and all the stay at home moms take advantage like I am. Xo
